Why T-TET is a big exam

T-TET is the first gate to a government teacher job in Tripura. TRBT's own notice says that passing T-TET and getting the certificate is one of the eligibility norms for recruiting teachers at elementary level, which means Classes 1 to 8. When TRBT advertises teacher posts, only candidates who hold a T-TET certificate can apply. So every candidate who wants this job has to sit T-TET, whichever recruitment they plan to apply for later.

  • It is compulsory for elementary teacher posts (Classes 1 to 8).
  • The certificate is valid for life. You pass once and keep it.
  • There is no negative marking, so a wrong answer costs nothing. The pass mark is 60%, which is 90 of 150.
  • You can sit both papers if you are eligible, one for Classes 1 to 5 and one for Classes 6 to 8.

NoteThe notice also says clearly that a T-TET certificate gives no right to a job. You apply again, and go through a selection process, when TRBT advertises posts.

What is not announced yet

  • The online application dates and the last date to pay the fee.
  • The fee for each paper. It was Rs. 300 for unreserved and Rs. 200 for SC, ST and PH candidates in the last test.
  • The admit card date. In the last cycle it came out in the two weeks before the exam.

In the last cycle the form was open from 24 January to 28 February 2025 and the papers were on 20 and 27 April 2025. We only confirm dates that TRBT publishes, so check this page and trb.tripura.gov.in for the form.

How to use the weeks left

From today there are about nine weeks to Paper I and eleven to Paper II. Each paper has 150 questions, and almost every section is worth 30 marks, so no one section can be skipped.

  • Weeks 1 to 2: read the official syllabus once. Start with Child Development and Pedagogy, which is the same in both papers.
  • Weeks 3 to 5: Language I (English) and Language II (Bengali or Kokborok). Practise passages and grammar every day.
  • Weeks 6 to 7: Mathematics and Environmental Studies for Paper I, or Mathematics and Science, or Social Studies, for Paper II.
  • Last two weeks: full 150-question mocks in 2 hours 30 minutes, then fix the weak sections.
