About APSC CCE
Assam Public Service Commission — Combined Competitive Examination
The Combined Competitive Examination of the Assam Public Service Commission fills the Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service and other state services. It follows the UPSC model: a Prelims of two objective papers, a Mains of six descriptive papers, and an interview. In the Prelims, General Studies (100 questions, 200 marks) decides the merit and CSAT (80 questions, 200 marks) only needs 33%; wrong answers lose 0.25 marks. The Mains has an Essay and five General Studies papers of 250 marks each, 1,500 in all, and the interview carries 180 marks. The CCE 2025 cycle, advertised in 2026 for 78 posts, has its Mains on 9, 10 and 11 October 2026 in Guwahati.
