Tripura Forest Guard free mock test 2026

The Tripura Forest Department is recruiting 167 Forest Guards (Group-C, non-gazetted) in Level-6 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix 2018 (Rs. 5,700–24,000, Grade Pay Rs. 2,100). The minimum qualification is Madhyamik, with a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura. Selection is 85% written exam and 15% interview: 170 written marks (Maths 20, English 30, General Knowledge 120, all at Class 10 level) and a 30-mark interview, plus a 100-mark Bengali or Kokborok paper that only needs 40%. Those who clear the written cut-off face a physical standards check and a walking test — 25 km for men and 16 km for women within four hours — and a medical.

GK is 120 of 170 marks

General Knowledge alone decides most of the Forest Guard written score: Tripura, North-East, India, flora, fauna, climate, soil, rivers and basic science. There is no separate Science section.

English carries 30 marks

Forest Guard has 30 English marks against Forester's 20, at Class 10 level. Grammar and comprehension practice pays more here than in the Forester paper.

Bengali or Kokborok paper, 40% to pass

A 100-mark language paper at Class 10 level is qualifying only. It is not added to your score, but you need 40% in it. If you did not pick a language, Bengali was assigned by default.

Written first, then physical

Only candidates who clear the written cut-off go to the physical standards check and the walking test. Cut-offs can differ by category.

Walk 25 km in 4 hours

Men must cover 25 km and women 16 km on foot within four hours. Start building walking stamina now, not after the written result.

85% written, 15% interview

The written exam carries 170 marks and the interview 30. The interview can be cancelled or rescheduled without notice.

PRTC is mandatory

You must hold a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura. Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable.

No call letter by post

Medical after selection

Candidates who clear written and interview take a medical by the Health Department, and may need a certificate of fitness for strenuous field work.

Women: self-declaration on test day

Women candidates must bring a self-declaration that they are not pregnant on the date of the physical test.
