Railway Recruitment Boards — Assistant Loco Pilot (CEN 01/2026) & Junior Engineer (CEN 04/2026)

This page covers the two technical recruitments of the Railway Recruitment Boards that are in their exam stage now. RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot), CEN 01/2026, has 11,127 posts in Level 2 for candidates with Class 10 plus ITI, or a diploma or degree in engineering; CBT 1 is a 75-question, 60-minute paper. RRB JE (Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant), CEN 04/2026, has 4,029 posts in Level 6 for engineering diploma and degree holders; CBT 1 is a 100-question, 90-minute paper. Both deduct one third of a mark per wrong answer, and both follow CBT 1 with a technical CBT 2. ALP candidates also take the Computer Based Aptitude Test.

When is the RRB JE CBT 1 in 2026?

On 27 and 28 October 2026. The first schedule of 16 September also listed 30 October, but the revised schedule dropped it. E-call letters came out from 23 October.

When is the RRB ALP CBT 1 in 2026?

From 3 to 5 November 2026 for CEN 01/2026, in three shifts a day. The city intimation slip is out on rrb.digialm.com from 24 October, date by date. Log in with your registration number and date of birth.

When will the RRB ALP admit card come?

About 4 days before your exam date, on rrb.digialm.com and your regional RRB website. The city slip only shows your city and date. It is not the admit card.

What is the RRB ALP CBT 1 pattern?

75 questions for 75 marks in 60 minutes: Mathematics 20, Mental Ability 25, General Science 20 and General Awareness 10, with one third of a mark deducted for each wrong answer.

What is the RRB JE CBT 1 pattern?

100 questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes: Mathematics 30, General Intelligence & Reasoning 25, General Awareness 15 and General Science 30, with −1/3 per wrong answer.

What is the age limit for RRB ALP and JE?

18 to 33 years for both, counted on the date in each notification (1 January 2027 for JE CEN 04/2026), with relaxation for reserved categories.
