About Assam ADRE
SLRC Assam — Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (Grade III & IV)
The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) is the State Level Recruitment Commission's common written test for Grade III and Grade IV posts across Assam government departments. ADRE 2.0 was held in September 2024 and appointment letters were handed out on 9 and 10 January 2026. Grade III has separate papers for graduate, Higher Secondary and HSLC (driver) levels; the graduate paper has 150 questions for 175 marks in 3 hours, including 25 two-mark reading comprehension questions. Grade IV papers (Class 8 and Class 10 levels) have 135 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes. Wrong answers lose a quarter of the question's marks. ADRE 3.0 is expected after the 2026 Assam Assembly elections but has not been notified, so the pattern below is from ADRE 2.0.
