About Tripura TET

Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tripura — Teacher Eligibility Test (T-TET)

T-TET is one of the biggest exams for anyone who wants to teach in Tripura. It is the Tripura Teachers' Eligibility Test of the Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), and TRBT's own notice says it is one of the eligibility norms for recruitment of teachers at elementary level. So if you want a government teacher post in Classes 1 to 8, you must pass T-TET first, and only then can you apply when TRBT advertises posts. Paper I is for Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for Classes 6 to 8, and you can sit both. There is no negative marking, and the certificate is valid for life, so one pass is enough. Paper I is for Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for Classes 6 to 8. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, with no negative marking. The pass mark is 60% (90 of 150), with 5% relaxation (83 of 150) for SC, ST and PH candidates. The T-TET certificate is valid for life, but it does not give a job by itself: TRBT calls a separate recruitment test. TRBT's notice of 14 October 2026 gives the tentative dates of T-TET 2026: Paper I on 20 December 2026 and Paper II on 3 January 2027, both from 12:00 noon to 2:30 PM. The prospectus with the fee, eligibility and application dates is not out yet. The details below are from the T-TET 2024 prospectus. The last T-TET was held on 20 April 2025 (Paper I) and 27 April 2025 (Paper II).

Tripura TET: questions people ask

Answers from the official notification and the TRBT calendar.

What is T-TET and why is it important?

T-TET is the Tripura Teachers' Eligibility Test, held by the Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT). It is important because it is the first gate to a teacher job in Tripura. TRBT's notice says T-TET is one of the eligibility norms for recruitment of teachers at elementary level, which means Classes 1 to 8. Without the T-TET certificate you cannot apply when TRBT advertises those posts.

Is T-TET compulsory for a teacher job in Tripura?

Yes, for elementary-level teacher posts (Classes 1 to 8). Paper I is needed for Classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for Classes 6 to 8. Passing T-TET does not give a job by itself: TRBT calls a separate recruitment, and you apply again for it.

Should I take T-TET Paper I or Paper II?

Take Paper I if you want to teach Classes 1 to 5, and Paper II if you want to teach Classes 6 to 8. If you are eligible for both, you can sit both papers. They are on different days (20 December 2026 and 3 January 2027, tentative), so you can prepare for both. Child Development and Pedagogy, and the two language sections, are common to both papers.

When will the T-TET 2026 form and admit card come?

Not announced yet. TRBT's notice of 14 October 2026 says the prospectus with the fee, eligibility and application dates will be published on trb.tripura.gov.in in due course. The admit card comes a few days before the exam. In the last cycle the form was open from 24 January to 28 February 2025 for an exam on 20 April 2025. We update this page when TRBT publishes the prospectus.

When is Tripura TET 2026?

TRBT's notice of 14 October 2026 gives the tentative dates: Paper I on Sunday 20 December 2026 and Paper II on Sunday 3 January 2027, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 PM. The test centre can be anywhere in Tripura and is printed on the admit card. The prospectus with the fee, eligibility and application dates will come on trb.tripura.gov.in later, and we update this page when it does. The last T-TET was held on 20 April 2025 (Paper I) and 27 April 2025 (Paper II).

What is the T-TET exam pattern?

Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, in 2 hours 30 minutes, with no negative marking. Paper I has five sections of 30 questions; Paper II has three of 30 and one of 60. Question papers are in English and Bengali, except the language papers.

What is the passing mark in T-TET?

60%, which is 90 out of 150. SC, ST and PH candidates get a relaxation of up to 5% (83 out of 150). The T-TET certificate is valid for life.

Is there negative marking in Tripura TET?

No. Each correct answer gets one mark and wrong answers are not penalised.

Is there an age limit for T-TET?

No. There is no age limit for the test. For a teacher recruitment, the upper age limit is as per the Tripura government's recruitment rules, so a T-TET pass who is over that limit cannot apply for the post.

What is the T-TET fee?

In the 2024 test it was Rs. 300 for unreserved candidates and Rs. 200 for SC, ST and PH candidates, for each paper. The fee for the next test will be in its notice.

Who can apply for T-TET Paper I and Paper II?

Paper I: Senior Secondary with at least 50% and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), or the other routes in the prospectus, such as 4-year B.El.Ed, or graduation with D.El.Ed. Paper II: graduation with D.El.Ed, or graduation or post-graduation with at least 50% and B.Ed, among other routes. You need a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura at scrutiny.

Does passing T-TET give a government teacher job?

No. The T-TET certificate is only one eligibility condition. TRBT calls a separate recruitment test, and you apply online again when it advertises posts.

Which languages can I choose for Language II?

Bengali or Kokborok, for both papers. Language I is English. You choose while applying and cannot change it.

What is the full form of Tripura TET?

Tripura TET (T-TET) stands for Teacher Eligibility Test, held by the Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tripura.

Is the Tripura TET mock test free?

Yes. 1 full mock is free in the real exam interface, with every answer explained and a report on your weak topics. No card needed to sign up.

Will I be charged again automatically?

No. Every plan is a single payment. When it ends, your account goes back to free and nothing is charged.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Write to us within 24 hours of paying and we refund the full amount, on any plan.
