Tripura Public Service Commission — Assistant Technical Officer

TPSC ATO (Assistant Technical Officer) is a Group-B Gazetted post in the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, recruited under the Tripura Information Technology Service (ITS) Rules, 2025. Advt. No. 02/2026 has 220 posts in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 10,230–34,800, Grade Pay Rs. 4,800, Level-13 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix 2018). Selection has two stages: a 170-mark OMR-based written exam of 3 hours, and a 30-mark interview / personality test. The written exam has a 50-mark General Ability paper and a 120-mark job-oriented technical paper covering 14 sections of Computer Science, IT and communication. You need a BE/B.Tech in CS, IT or Electronics, or an MCA, and a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC). There is no limit on the number of attempts.

Paper I — General Ability Test

  • Synonyms, antonyms, common phrases and idioms, prepositions and articles, comprehension, ordering of words in a sentence, ordering of sentences, spotting of errors, appropriate and qualifying words.

  • Logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, quantitative and qualitative abilities, general aptitude.

  • GK with special reference to Tripura and the Northeastern states; elementary Indian history and geography; current events and problems with special reference to Tripura, India and the world.

Paper II — Job-Oriented Technical

55% in each paper
Unreserved candidates need at least 55% in Paper I and in Paper II separately; reserved categories need 45%. A strong Paper II cannot carry a weak Paper I.
Answers only in English
Questions in all papers must be answered in English and in no other language.
No limit on attempts
You can sit the exam as many times as you like while you meet the eligibility and your category's upper age limit.
Gate closes 10 minutes early
The venue closes 10 minutes before the exam starts and no one is let in after that. Jackets, coats and pullovers are not allowed inside.
Ties go to the older candidate
Equal aggregate marks are ranked by age; if age is also equal, by the percentage in the qualifying degree.
