About AFCAT
Indian Air Force — Air Force Common Admission Test
AFCAT is the Indian Air Force's online test for commissioned officers in the Flying Branch and the Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. It is held twice a year. The test has 100 questions for 300 marks in 2 hours: 3 marks for a right answer and 1 mark deducted for a wrong one. It covers General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning & Military Aptitude. Candidates for the Ground Duty (Technical) branch also take the Engineering Knowledge Test. Those who clear the cut-off go to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) for a five-day assessment, and Flying Branch candidates also take the Computerised Pilot Selection System.
